Prohibited Items List

Products, materials, credentials, services, and regulated goods that cannot be listed or requested

1. Purpose and Scope

This Prohibited Items List applies to every listing, product request, message, booking, handoff, support request, and attempted workaround conducted, requested, advertised, or facilitated through Rent Anything.

This List is a platform-eligibility rule, not a statement that every listed item is unlawful in every jurisdiction. Rent Anything may prohibit a product even when possession or use could be lawful somewhere. An item is not eligible merely because it is absent from this List; it must also appear in the approved catalog or receive Support approval and comply with all applicable laws and platform rules.

Definitive platform rule

Users must not list, request, rent, exchange, advertise, transport, or facilitate a prohibited item through Rent Anything.

Users must not disguise a prohibited item as an approved product, misstate its contents or purpose, or move a prohibited transaction off-platform after it originates through or is identified by the Service.

Ordinary approved consumer products - including maintained ladders, drills, saws, pressure washers, generators, lawn and cleaning equipment, party equipment, household goods, electronics, mobility aids, sports equipment, and similar products - are not prohibited merely because safe use requires care. A particular item is still prohibited if it is recalled, unsafe, stolen, counterfeit, contaminated, illegally modified, or otherwise covered below.

2. User and Support Standard

·      Users are responsible for following all applicable laws and for checking whether a product is allowed before listing or requesting it.

·      Support may remove or decline content, cancel or hold a transaction, restrict an account, preserve evidence, or report suspected illegal activity or immediate safety risks.

·      Catalog approval means only that a product type is currently permitted for listing. It is not a safety certification, endorsement, or approval of a particular item.

·      Questions about a product must be submitted through the product-request workflow before it is listed.
